RayWorld Classic Antique World Map
Product Overview
A tribute to mapmakers and seafarers - This map illustrates the modern world in an antique way, is both decorative and educational and is based on actual facts taken from contemporary referential literature and in cooperation with experts from the field. How many of you have played games involving pirates and buried treasure like the ever-popular Peter Pan and Captain Cook?
It is an ideal tool for learning and can be placed anywhere from the office to a children‘s bedroom. Just looking at the map makes one want to travel to unknown places in search of hidden treasure.
It is a legible and precise geographical and political map. Along with the countries, cities, rivers, mountains, seas and oceans the map also features the meridians, parallels, winds written in Latin, ice zones as well as warm and cold fronts marked by the seasons.
There are also nautical flags and knots, morse code and even time zones. There is an astrolabe on Greenland (the astrolabe is a very ancient astronomical computer for solving problems relating to time and the position of the sun and stars in the sky. Astrolabes are used to show how the sky looks at a specific place at a given time) as one of the first navigational instruments. The ships and sea creatures depict ancient and imaginary worlds.
